About
Graduating with a 1st Class honours degree in Textiles, Amy Elizabeth works from her studio in West London.
Amy has an extreme passion for colour and texture and focuses on creating embroidery art that combines conventional and non conventional materials.
The most current collection of artworks takes inspiration from coral reefs. Her fascination with watching and studying her home marine tank is where her current project began. By combining this with her personal experience of deep sea diving in Thailand, she uses this first hand research to recreate the depth, growth, texture and movement of the corals through 3 dimensional embroidery.
Amy uses her art as a platform to emphasise the need to up-cycle and re-use materials within textiles, specifically embroidery, this is something she feels truly passionate about promoting and demonstrating the endless possibilities.
To view Amy's most current collection, see the shop page. Exhibition dates are shown below.
Amy is available for commissions and 3D/experimental embroidery workshops. For further information, contact amyvancedesign@gmail.com.
